Spreading your Ideas with Social Media

What is the purpose of spreading your ideas with social media?
I believe the purpose of spreading your ideas on social media is to reach a wider audience. What I mean is that, with social media, instead of just connecting with friends and family. You can also connect with people who have similar interests and ideas. This allows for more bonds to form through social media and also helps you to contribute to a community on social media. Bonds can also be formed through a mutual cause. For example, people who are suffering from cancer or friends and family who knows someone with cancer can join a community on social media. This allows for distraught family members to find comfort in others who are in a similar situation. Members of this group can also help to create awareness for cancer patients and survivors. With the help of socializing media members can reach a wider audience to spread their message and to get more people involved with the community.

What other information do you need to consider to better understand spreading your ideas with social media?

Spreading your ideas with social media means just that. Spreading your thoughts on social media for others to see. One thing to remember about spreading your ideas on social media is to remember to set your privacy settings on your posts. Depending on what you post you may want to make sure you know who it can be seen by. For example, if you were sending out invitations to a house party to your close friends and family, then you should make sure that it can only be seen by the people in your friends list. Instead of having your invitation be seen publicly and then have random strangers arrive to your house. Another good ideas to remember about spreading your ideas on social media is that everyone has their own opinions. No matter what cause you are for or against, more often than not people will say what they have on their mind. The most important thing to remember is that it is hard to change peoples minds about their beliefs, and that doing so is a fool’s errand. If you manage to do so great, but don’t feel like you have to convince every naysayer that your opinion is the correct one.

The purpose of the assignment is to understand why sharing your ideas on social media is important. As well as to understand how you can share your ideas on social media more effectively.

The key question at the heart of the assignment is how do you share your ideas on social media?

    Week 4 - Intellectual Standards

INTELLECTUAL STANDARDS Clarity I understand "clarity" to mean to be clear and understandable. In other words, being easy to follow and understand so that the viewers can follow along. You can also achieve clarity by asking questions when something is unclear or can be easily misunderstood. An example of someone exhibiting clarity with social media would be my friend advertising for a fundraiser on Facebook. My friend would then give the details of what the fundraiser is for, when/where it is going to be, and other information. This way everyone will be on the same page and will know what to expect should they wish to participate. Let's also say that I don't know how to get to the location, I would then ask, "How do you get to the fundraiser?" or something like that and my friend will then post detailed directions so that everyone will know how to get there. Accuracy I understand "accuracy" to mean as factually correct as possible. In other wor...

    Week 10 - Remixing Content

I understand "remixing content" to mean, adding a new element (or elements) to an existing piece of media, in order to create something new. In other words, taking a photo or video and adding something new to it, such as a filter or stickers, and creating a new piece of media from it. An example of "remixing content" would be , last year, I took ICS 203: Digital Image Editing, and I learned a lot about how to photoshop and remixing my pictures in order to create a new image. It was a really fun class and the skills that I learned, were really useful especially in today’s world where remixed content is becoming as popular, if not more so, than unfiltered media. These pictures were taken from one of my ICS 203 projects. Here we had to chose two or three images and "blend" them together to create a new image. Here I had chosen a picture of a sunrise I took out of an airplane window, a waterfall, and some flowers. All three pictures were taken by me and ...

Week 8 - Editorial on Untruthful News

How to spot Fake News Infographic Fake News and You Technology has advanced so much in the past few decades. Before, people were dependent on newspapers and news reports on the television to get the inside scoop on what was going on with the world. Nowadays, people have the ability to just look up information with just a few keystrokes on their phone. Anytime, anyplace. Unfortunately, with the growing convenience of the entire world's knowledge in the palm of your hand, the is also a growing increase on the amount of fake news.   Fake news is exactly that. False news that is being presented as fact to the public. Fake news has become a growing issue over these past few years and it has only gotten worse since the COVID-19 pandemic has become widespread.  There is not only the issue of fake news, but also a problem with biases. People who have strong biases tend to believe news that fits their agenda rather than listen to the truth even if it goes against their beli...
