Spreading your Ideas with Social Media

What is the purpose of spreading your ideas with social media?
I believe the purpose of spreading your ideas on social media is to reach a wider audience. What I mean is that, with social media, instead of just connecting with friends and family. You can also connect with people who have similar interests and ideas. This allows for more bonds to form through social media and also helps you to contribute to a community on social media. Bonds can also be formed through a mutual cause. For example, people who are suffering from cancer or friends and family who knows someone with cancer can join a community on social media. This allows for distraught family members to find comfort in others who are in a similar situation. Members of this group can also help to create awareness for cancer patients and survivors. With the help of socializing media members can reach a wider audience to spread their message and to get more people involved with the community.

What other information do you need to consider to better understand spreading your ideas with social media?

Spreading your ideas with social media means just that. Spreading your thoughts on social media for others to see. One thing to remember about spreading your ideas on social media is to remember to set your privacy settings on your posts. Depending on what you post you may want to make sure you know who it can be seen by. For example, if you were sending out invitations to a house party to your close friends and family, then you should make sure that it can only be seen by the people in your friends list. Instead of having your invitation be seen publicly and then have random strangers arrive to your house. Another good ideas to remember about spreading your ideas on social media is that everyone has their own opinions. No matter what cause you are for or against, more often than not people will say what they have on their mind. The most important thing to remember is that it is hard to change peoples minds about their beliefs, and that doing so is a fool’s errand. If you manage to do so great, but don’t feel like you have to convince every naysayer that your opinion is the correct one.

The purpose of the assignment is to understand why sharing your ideas on social media is important. As well as to understand how you can share your ideas on social media more effectively.

The key question at the heart of the assignment is how do you share your ideas on social media?

    Week 4 - Community Connections

What is a community, what is a connection, and how are they related?   1.       A community, to me, is a group of people. For example, people who live in the same area, or go to the same school. A c onnection, is when at least two people meet and find out that they have similar interests and thus form a bond. These communities  usually  use connections (typically social media) to meet like-minded individuals and thus creating friendships.  In other words,  a community is the physical group of people, while a connection is the metaphorical bond that binds the community together. Connections are usually made in public settings, but now more connections are made through long-distance thanks to social media. Where there is a wider platform that stretches all over the globe and thus creating a wider community and, in turn, more connections. An example would be when I went to school in Whittier, California for a couple years. I was part of the Whittier ...

    Week 5 - Intellectual Standards Part 2

Depth 1. I understand "depth" to mean providing a deeper meaning of a subject.   2. In other words, a statement that goes beyond just a simple explanation. Instead, providing it's purpose and underlying concepts hidden between the lines.   3. An example of someone exhibiting depth with social media would be my friend on YouTube talking about a specific book, movie, or video game that she really loves. She will give a brief description of the topic in question, then she will give her own opinions and/or give her own interpretations of the work to her viewers.   Breadth 1. I understand "breadth" to mean allowing for interpretations from different points of view. 2. In other words, creating an open discussion on certain topics and subjects. Thus allowing people to voice their own opinions from all perspectives instead of focusing on one insight over all others.  3. An example of someone exhibiting breadth with social media would be my frien...
